FAQs about shipping from Spain
Why do shipments to the Canary Islands take so much longer?▾
The Canarias are outside the EU VAT zone, so every parcel — even from mainland Spain — passes through customs in Las Palmas or Tenerife. Add 3-7 working days versus a Peninsula-to-Peninsula shipment, plus possible IGIC tax on goods over €150. Correos and SEUR both offer Canarias-specific services with simplified clearance.
What does 'En reparto' mean on Correos?▾
"En reparto" means the parcel is out for delivery with your local cartero (postal carrier). For standard Paq Estándar / Paq Premium it usually arrives by end of day. If you're not home, Correos leaves a aviso slip and holds the parcel at the local oficina for 15 days.
Are there regional holidays in Spain that affect delivery?▾
Yes — beyond national holidays, each comunidad autónoma has its own. For example, March 19 (San José) shuts down Valencia, April 23 (Sant Jordi) affects Catalonia courier flows, and major fiestas like Semana Santa add 2-4 days nationwide. Check the destination region before quoting a delivery date.
