FAQs about shipping from Canada

Why does my Canada Post tracking sit at "Item processed" for days?

Canada Post relies on regional sortation plants (Mississauga, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver). Parcels can wait 1-3 business days at one of these plants before the next scan, especially during Q4 peak. If there's no movement after 5 business days, file a Service Ticket on canadapost.ca.

Are there delivery slowdowns during Canadian winters?

Yes — heavy snow events in Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes routinely add 1-3 days. Canada Post and Purolator post severe-weather service alerts on their sites. Northern routes (Yukon, NWT, Nunavut) can be affected for a week or more during ice storms.

Will I owe duty/GST on a package coming into Canada?

Imports under CAD $20 are usually duty- and tax-free. Above that, expect 5% GST (plus PST/HST in some provinces) and possibly duty depending on origin and product type. CUSMA-eligible goods from the U.S. or Mexico under CAD $150 are duty-free but still taxed above $40. Couriers add a brokerage fee on top.
