Long URLs break in text messages, look messy in social posts and are nearly impossible to type from a printed flyer. This tool turns any http or https address into a short goln.cc link, optionally with a name you choose, so a campaign link reads goln.cc/spring-sale instead of a 200-character tracking URL. It takes a few seconds and does not ask you to sign up.
Every link comes with a private stats page showing total clicks, clicks per day, the countries and referring sites they came from, and whether people opened it on a phone, tablet or desktop. Those numbers are counted in aggregate: no IP address is stored and no tracking cookie is set on the people who click. The stats page is unlocked by a key in its URL, so save it when the link is created — there is no account to recover it from.
Free links expire after 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days, which suits most social posts, events and short promotions. Links that never expire, for things like a QR code printed on packaging, are coming soon; until then you can ask for one through the contact form on this page. Short links are redirected with a 302 so browsers do not cache them permanently. Links to malware or phishing are refused or taken down.
