About the Time Zone Converter

Coordinating a call, flight, or deadline across regions usually means doing mental math with UTC offsets and hoping you didn't mix up AM and PM or land on the wrong day. The Time Zone Converter does that arithmetic for you: it converts a date and time from one zone to another and tells you when the result falls on a different day. It's built for the recurring situations that trip people up most: scheduling a meeting with a remote team, checking when a live stream or product launch goes out in your local time, or figuring out what time it'll be for family overseas before you call.

Pick a From zone and a To zone from 26 zones, from Hawaii (UTC-10) to Fiji (UTC+12), including the half-hour zones for India and Adelaide. Enter a date and time, and the converted date and time appear immediately, with a 'Next day' or 'Previous day' flag when the conversion crosses midnight. Each zone is converted with its own daylight saving rules for the date you enter, and the offsets and abbreviations on screen follow that date — Eastern Time reads -05:00 and EST in January, -04:00 and EDT in July. The Quick Reference panel lists the live current time in 12 zones.

If you're setting up a recurring meeting, check the result against each season. The United States, Europe and Australia change their clocks on different dates, and Japan, India, China and Singapore don't change them at all, so a gap that works in January can shift by an hour in April. Convert the actual date of the meeting rather than today, and for meetings across several cities use the Meeting Time Planner to compare everyone's working hours at once.

How to convert time zones

Convert a date and time from one time zone to another in a few clicks.

  1. 1

    Set the source time

The page starts with the current time in the From zone. Click Using Current Time to switch it off, then enter the date and time you want to convert.

  2. 2

    Choose the source time zone

Select the time zone that the entered time belongs to, such as your local zone or the zone of the event you're scheduling.

  3. 3

    Choose the target time zone

Select the To Time Zone. The converted date and time appear underneath, with a summary line such as 09:00 EST = 15:00 CET.

  4. 4

    Check for a day change

If the conversion crosses midnight, the result is marked Next day or Previous day.

  5. 5

    Swap or adjust

Use the swap button to reverse the direction. Offsets in the dropdowns update to the date you entered, so a summer date shows daylight saving offsets.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert a time between time zones?

Turn off Using Current Time, enter a date and time, pick the From Time Zone and the To Time Zone. The converted date and time appear straight away, with a Next day or Previous day note when the conversion crosses midnight.

Does the converter handle daylight saving time?

Yes. Each zone is converted with its own daylight saving rules for the date you enter, using the IANA time zone database built into your browser. The offset in each dropdown and the abbreviation in the summary line (EST or EDT, GMT or BST) change to match that date.

Can I convert times for a future or past date?

Yes, turn off Using Current Time and pick any date. The date decides which daylight saving rules apply on each side and whether the conversion lands on the previous or next day.
